DeleteStarting over...Stomberg carb on Triumph Stag V8? 70-77?
ReplyDeletejlenham -- you are very VERY close.
DeleteIt's a dashpot for either a Stromberg or an SU or any of the other licensed/unlicensed clones.
ReplyDeleteThere's only one (that I can see) so I'm going to guess it's a smaller engine, BMC perhaps?
Oil filter housing on a R53 BMW-MINI.
ReplyDeleteIt's an SU Carb on a Rover V8 intake manifold of some sort. The square box to the left is the intake manifold. Black tube to the left goes to some elaborate air filter housing.
ReplyDeleteOld Land Rover maybe? At first I thought maybe a Daimler Dart but their manifold is sexier and not boxy and they used filters right at the carb throat.
Looks Rolls / Bentley to me with the black tube going to that choke thingy hat it shares with the other carb.
ReplyDeleteWhy do they need a choke on a SU anyway since SU just like Weber doesn't usually have or need a choke?
That has a blower attached...and it looks factory but low production....and I can't think of any Brit that age with a factory blower..
ReplyDelete3500 PoPo
ReplyDeleteThere it is! Not sure what a PoPo is...but it is that Rover 3500.
DeleteCould PoPo be an obscure colloquialism indicating the constabulary? Eg its a 3500 Rover cop car dude!
