Att sälja en luftkyld V-12 Continental 1790 kubiktum amerikanska armén tank motor.Detta är den bensin, sprutas bränslet versionen.Motorn är mestadels klar. En insprutningspumpen saknas, och åtminstone en magneto delvis isär. Ventilkåpan som saknas i några av bilderna är närvarande, jag tog det fart för att inspektera inuti. Alla viktiga komponenter verkar vara oskadat. Har en starter och generator.Jag fick detta från Little auktionen och skulle hålla det men
lagringsutrymme är att få vara ett problem och jag har alldeles för

I cant read the post but it still makes me think of an old engine we had in the basement of our old shop. Long story as to why we had it but it was a gas v12 out of a fire truck. Dual plugs per cylinder, and massive. We always said it would be cool if you could somehow get pistons and a cam built for it, port the heads a bit and stick it in a wood cigarette boat. Especially since the exhaust we in the center of the vee, so you could just have 12 pipes sticking straight up.

ReplyDeleteThe concept of the gasoline-fueled tank was largely discredited in the latter days of WWII and put away completely with the Korean War; it was largely 'is it worth 30% more dead tank crew to run your armor off the same pipeline that fuels your aircraft?' and once the flyboys were mostly sitting on kerosene blowtorches that became academic.
Youre so cool! I dont suppose Ive learn anything like this before.
