The Fiat 850 Spider is a small rear-engine rear-drive two seater from Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino and was built from 1964-1973. An 850 Spider is a great inexpensive option for a low-budget classic, but today's feature isn't going to win any CLIO awards. Find this 1969 Fiat 850 Spider for sale in Chicago, IL for $800 via craigslist. Tip from Scooter. There are a number of things that clearly stand out in this ad as putting off potential buyers. First up is the ALL CAPS in the ad text...seriously folks, telegraphy has been a dead technology since computers arrived in the 1970s. Capitalization rules are simple, the first letter in a sentence and pronouns...that is it. Next up, the ad is severely lacking in details, you need to explain how long you've owned the car, does it run/drive, these kind of issues shouldn't require a phone call for more "INF." Finally, when showing a picture of the trunk for example, you should focus on the trunk compartment and not the underside of the lid...seriously, this ad is just horrible.

I didn't know Ted Kennedy had a Fiat
ReplyDeleteHAAAAhaaaaHAAAAA!!
DeleteMmm, I wonder if the seats shown in the first pic come with the car, or if they have been sold (maybe just taken out for safe keeping?), are the floorpans rusted out?
ReplyDeleteGreat price, but wow, could you give more "INF" at all?!
I didn't know Fiat made pants.
ReplyDeleteA naked guy wearing a Fiat 850. Some things cannot be unseen. You've ruined my lunch!
ReplyDeleteI think he's constipated. Or at the least, just thinking very hard about something. Maybe there's a hole in the seat bottom...the ultimate Italian Porta-John.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize that Lysol could be such a major expense in a restoration.
ReplyDeleteAaaaaaand it's KBZ for the win!
ReplyDelete1. Looks like it's got that "lived-in" smell.
ReplyDelete2. Is that stripe on the seat cushion original? or a "custom design"?
3. I've heard of pinstripes before but nothing ever THAT wide.
4. If he's taking a deuce, would that make this car a deuce coup?
This ^^ - the wrong way to lower a Fiat.
ReplyDeletei hope he remembers to flush... the radiator... flush it again, tony!
ReplyDeleteWife's riding my ass to sell my Fiat project and get it out of our driveway. I don't want to sell it. Gotta convince her that I'm trying to sell it though.
ReplyDelete"Honey, Norm's coming over to help me sell the Fiat"
"Hey, Norm, why don't you just have a seat there while I'm shooting a few pics"
Click.
This takes 'clown car' to a whole new level!
ReplyDeleteOk....is it 600 dollars or 800 dollars?
ReplyDeletePass the Lysol, please....I gotta wash the car.
ReplyDeleteClassic! Americans know no shame..............must be a Romney voter :)
ReplyDeleteIs that a tuck and roll stomach ?
ReplyDeleteHow Not To Sell: No doubt you are referring to the mismatched rims?
