Modified VR6: 1996 Volkswagen GTI MkIII

Golf enthusiasts tend to gravitate towards the early MkI/II examples or a later model that has all the dual-clutch gizmos that the kids want in their cars these days, so the MkIII Golf is a bit of a forgotten classic -- known only to a die hard group of people who probably inherited the Golf from their parents or don't know that Japan made cars in the mid 90s...ANYWAY, the MkIII Golf and its sporty GTI brother is a good deal on the used market. Find this 1996 Volkswagen GTI MkIII offered for $4,200 in Los Angeles, CA via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

2k: Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau: 1972 Gilbern Invader Mk III

The Gilbern Invader was a small sports car built in Llantwit Fardre, Pontypridd, Glamorgan, Wales. It is one of the few cars ever engineered and built in the country that brought us the equals sign, tennis and Catherine Zeta-Jones.  By 1972 the Invader (actually the descendant of something called the GT, then the Genie) was in its 4th year of production and 3rd revision...perhaps we've stumbled onto the reason that Gilbern is not manufacturing cars anymore.  Find this 1972 Gilbern Invader Mk III currently bidding for £1,400 GBP ($2,200 USD at time of printing) on eBay UK with 4 days to go, located in Manchester, UK.  Tip from Zeke.
